As he speaks here, we see his face flit from expression to expression so fast and fluid, it is impossible to register it all on the first viewing. But maybe this over-correction is part of a trend that means we're finally starting to treat people equally (like a decaying sine wave). I'm an engineer and one of the best engineers I ever worked with a was a black guy who really earned his college scholarship. AA isn't stopping all black people from succeeding.

On December 14th 1963 in the hills about Los Angeles, the Baldwin Hills Reservoir suddenly cracked and eventually failed flooding the neighborhood below. Several people died and many homes were destroyed. Those of us who were there were already shaken by the death of John Kennedy only three weeks earlier. The reservoir's floodwaters literally washed in the turbulent times that lay ahead.

Baldwin read heavily in anglo saxon literature. Perhaps he didnt seek out black literature because of his own self hatred, thinking that black writers were not legitimate. Then, too, when white gurl Orilla Miller took him under her wings, he undoubtedly moved even farther towards the white literary establishment. k, it's good that marriage should be a non-federal issue and the federal government should defend life,but it makes no sense for the federal government to define a 'full living human' at conception and when it's embryo. Very intersesting and funny interview. As always with Meryl Streep. ;) But Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin were great, too. Well, I think with the 3 most important people of the Oscars, Martin and Baldwin hosting it and Meryl Streep to be nominated for lead actress again (and of course I hope she wins for J&J), the little Oscar-Talk at the end was fitting.
